Viruses of Microbes 2026
From July 6–10, Prague, Czech Republic, hosted Viruses of Microbes 2026 (VoM 2026), one of the world's leading international scientific conferences dedicated to the study of microbial viruses, including bacteriophages, phage therapy, and their biotechnological and clinical applications. This year's conference was held under the topic "Revealing Novel Interactions, Innovations, and Applications" and brought together more than 900 researchers, clinicians, and biotechnology professionals from around the world.
The Director of the George Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology, Mzia Kutateladze, together with the Institute's researchers, actively participated in the conference; They presented posters highlighting ongoing research, took part in scientific discussions, and explored the latest advances in phage research.
Notably, the George Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology and the Eliava Phage Therapy Center were official co-sponsors of VoM 2026, underscoring their internationally recognized contribution to advancing phage research and the development of phage therapy.
