Project "Phage Therapy, Antimicrobial Resistance, and Immunity"
With the financial support of the International Center for Education, an informational and practical project titled “Phage Therapy, Antimicrobial Resistance, and Immunity” was successfully implemented. The project aimed to raise awareness about these critical topics and foster professional dialogue among medical professionals across different regions of Georgia.
The project was led by Dr. Besarion Lasareishvili, Leading Scientist of the G. Eliava Institute of Bacteriophage, Microbiology, and Virology.
Within the framework of the project, three regional school conferences were organized between February and May 2025 across Georgia:
February 21–23 – Kutaisi, Akaki Tsereteli State University
March 14–15 – Telavi, Iakob Gogebashvili State University
April 25–27 – Batumi, Shota Rustaveli State University
These events were attended by practicing physicians, university lecturers, and medical residents. Each conference hosted between 40 and 66 participants. Regional media widely covered the events.
At the opening of each session, welcoming remarks were delivered by the Director of the International Center for Education, Nunuka Mitskevich and Rectors of the host universities.
In parallel with the regional events, two-hour working meetings were held in Tbilisi with physicians from leading medical institutions, including Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic and the First University Clinic.
